Award-winning Deutsch Connect was founded in 2018 by Kumbirai Chipadza, who arrived in Germany as a refugee in 2016. Through volunteering with Afrolynk, he gained his first exposure to the Africa–Germany business ecosystem. He later trained at leetHub and the Berlin Startup School, qualifying as an Entrepreneur in Residence — a journey that led to the creation of Deutsch Connect.
